The Resort
Lively and pretty - ideal for
an enjoyable holiday
We've been going to Blanes since
1975, and it's still a favourite spot.
On a sweeping bay overlooked by the ruined castle of San Juan,
Blanes is set between the rugged beauty of towering cliffs and
tiny coves to the north, and the wide golden beaches that stretch
southwards along the length of the town and beyond.
Much of the rocky headland is taken up by the famous botanical
gardens. Behind, the rocks give way to the picturesque San Francisco
Bay. Nestling under this headland is the harbour and marina
where you can see the small boats unload their daily catch of
fish, including delicacies such as lobster, squid and mussels.
Stretching along the beach is the Paseo de Mar, a delightful
promenade of trees, arbours, ponds and colourful gardens. In
the centre of town, the shaded tree-lined square is the scene
of the lively early-morning fruit and vegetable market. There
is also a weekly market which is always popular for its bargains.
For entertainment by day or night, Blanes has its fair share
of cafes, bars, restaurants and discos to suit all tastes. All
in all, a beautiful spot for a lively, enjoyable holiday.
